Committees, Meetings & Minutes

Town Council meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Town Hall. Meetings commence at 7.00pm and everyone is welcome to attend. There is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions at the beginning of these meetings, with 15 minutes set aside for this purpose.

Full Council

Held in Town Hall on the 4th Thursday of each month.

Policy, Finance and Personnel

A Committee responsible for all matters relating to Staff and financial matters at the council. Meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

Community Wellbeing

The Community Wellbeing Committee looks at aspects that improve the wellbeing of the community such as the Christmas Lights display and support for the Festivals.

Planning and Licensing

The Town Council is a statutory consultee and will make comment on all Planning and Licensing applications in the Parish. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Large and controversial applications will usually be deferred to the Full Council.

Town Centre and Economic Development

The Committee is responsible for the management and promotion of the street market, St Andrews Car park, CCTV, public toilets, town centre enhancement and revitalisation, street furniture and floral enhancement of the town centre.

Cemetery and Town Hall

A Committee that is responsible for the Cemetery and Town Hall (with the exception of Staffing matters). Meetings held on 4th Tuesday of each month.

Christmas Lights Event Working Group

To organise Cullompton's annual Christmas Lights event including switch-on of Christmas Lights

Gift of a Burrow for Allotments

Registered charity for which the Town Council is the sole trustee. Responsible for an allotment site in Tiverton Road

Audit Sub-committee

Sub-committee of the Policy, Finance and Personnel Committee that meets at least once a year to review the effectiveness of the Council's system of internal financial control
